Skilled Plasterer/Dryliner
We are in search of a proficient and seasoned Plasterer/Dryliner with at least a decade of practical experience to become a valuable member of our team. This role presents options for both full-time employment and subcontracting arrangements, with the standard work schedule being Monday through Friday. A valid driver’s license is a prerequisite for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out plastering and drylining tasks including applying plaster, rendering, and finishing surfaces to a high standard of quality and craftsmanship.
- Install plasterboard, stud partitions, and suspended ceilings according to construction plans and specifications.
- Prepare surfaces for plastering or drylining by removing old plaster, repairing cracks and holes, and applying sealing compounds as necessary.
- Utilise a variety of hand and power tools such as trowels, floats, and sanders to complete plastering and drylining projects efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure the smooth and even application of plaster and finishing compounds to achieve desired textures and finishes.
- Measure and cut plasterboard to fit around obstacles and openings, ensuring precise installation and a seamless appearance.
- Liaise with other tradespeople and contractors on-site to coordinate plastering and drylining activities and ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices at all times.
- Ability to resolve any plastering or drylining-related issues or challenges that may arise during the course of construction projects.
- Communicate effectively with project managers and supervisors reporting progress, discuss project requirements, and address any concerns or inquiries.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in plastering and drylining, with expertise in both traditional and modern techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials, tools, and techniques relevant to plastering and drylining work.
- Strong attention to detail and precision, with the ability to produce high-quality finishes consistently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve plastering and drylining-related issues effectively.
- Valid driving license and reliable transportation for commuting to and from job sites.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work as required by project demands.
