Skilled Plasterer/Dryliner

We are in search of a proficient and seasoned Plasterer/Dryliner with at least a decade of practical experience to become a valuable member of our team. This role presents options for both full-time employment and subcontracting arrangements, with the standard work schedule being Monday through Friday. A valid driver’s license is a prerequisite for this position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out plastering and drylining tasks including applying plaster, rendering, and finishing surfaces to a high standard of quality and craftsmanship.
  2. Install plasterboard, stud partitions, and suspended ceilings according to construction plans and specifications.
  3. Prepare surfaces for plastering or drylining by removing old plaster, repairing cracks and holes, and applying sealing compounds as necessary.
  4. Utilise a variety of hand and power tools such as trowels, floats, and sanders to complete plastering and drylining projects efficiently and accurately.
  5. Ensure the smooth and even application of plaster and finishing compounds to achieve desired textures and finishes.
  6. Measure and cut plasterboard to fit around obstacles and openings, ensuring precise installation and a seamless appearance.
  7. Liaise with other tradespeople and contractors on-site to coordinate plastering and drylining activities and ensure project timelines are met.
  8. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices at all times.
  9. Ability to resolve any plastering or drylining-related issues or challenges that may arise during the course of construction projects.
  10. Communicate effectively with project managers and supervisors reporting progress, discuss project requirements, and address any concerns or inquiries.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in plastering and drylining, with expertise in both traditional and modern techniques.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials, tools, and techniques relevant to plastering and drylining work.
  3. Strong attention to detail and precision, with the ability to produce high-quality finishes consistently.
  4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve plastering and drylining-related issues effectively.
  5. Valid driving license and reliable transportation for commuting to and from job sites.
  6. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Flexibility to work Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work as required by project demands.
  8. Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to health and safety regulations and procedures.
