Labourer – Plasterer
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our plastering team as a Labourer. The Labourer will provide essential support the various stages of the plastering process, ensuring efficient and smooth operations on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Assist plasterers with the preparation of surfaces for plastering, including cleaning, sanding, and applying bonding agents as directed.
- Mix plastering materials such as plaster, cement, and render according to specified ratios and consistency requirements.
- Transport and handle materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently to and from the worksite.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, platforms, and ladders as needed to access work areas, following safety protocols at all times.
- Apply plasterboard to walls and ceilings, cutting and fitting pieces as instructed by plasterers.
- Assist with the application of plaster coats, smoothing and levelling surfaces to achieve desired finishes.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe and organized environment.
- Follow instructions from plasterers and supervisors closely, completing tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and injuries on-site.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, reporting any issues or concerns promptly.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably in plastering or related trades.
- Basic knowledge of plastering techniques, materials, and tools is advantageous.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour tasks in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand and convey instructions clearly.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills under the guidance of experienced plasterers.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to commute to and from job sites.
