Labourer – Carpenter
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable individual to join our team as a Carpenter Labourer. The Carpenter Labourer will provide essential support to carpenters during various stages of construction projects, ensuring seamless and effective progress on site.
Responsibilities:
- Assist carpenters with the setup and preparation of worksites, including moving materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials according to carpenter instructions and plans.
- Hold and support materials in place for cutting, nailing, or securing, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe and organised environment.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from vehicles and storage areas, following proper lifting and handling procedures.
- Assist with the installation of doors, windows, and hardware, including hinges, locks, and handles.
- Perform basic carpentry tasks such as sanding, staining, and finishing surfaces under the direction of carpenters.
- Follow instructions from carpenters and supervisors closely, completing tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and injuries on-site.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably in carpentry or related trades.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools is advantageous.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour tasks in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand instructions clearly.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills under the guidance of experienced carpenters.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to commute to and from job sites.
